LION FISH

In this underwater photo art project, the central figure is the model painted as a lionfish. The artist Lena Edlinger, who painted herself as a lionfish, is also active in the field of visual arts as a painter. She woke up at 3 a.m. to start painting herself in order to be ready for the photoshoot at sunrise. The photographs played with contrasts and colors. The lionfish is a particularly magnificent fish that can blend in well within the thickets of a coral reef. There are over 20 species of lionfish, and most are venomous but not deadly. They use their venom solely for defense. The makeup had to be touched up repeatedly, and the photographer assisted in redoing the lines.
